On a logical sense, I don’t hate the brother for his actions. As a child, he copied what he saw around him (and his level of bullying was no where near his psychotic older brother), but after having a little sister who was treated similarly to his older sister, I think he realized how wrong his actions were and became protective over his younger sister, and feels guilty over his past actions. It’s harder to judge a child’s actions as they aren’t as emotionally mature, and still finding themselves and their own morals. But the trauma the FL had won’t go away just because of that. So forgiveness is hard to accept.
