I agree (and that’s probably the only thing her mother is right about). Therefore, I hope the author gives her character development where she becomes more assertive and confident in what she’s doing (almost like she did with that maid).
Unpopular opinion: the mama was right. Not about the drugging though. She needs to stop being a tragic heroine and stand up for herself. She literally has no backbone and everyone walks over her. If they’re not foolishly nice, she just gets trampled. I get anxiety over the language barrier, but at what point are you going to realize that you hold the authority quite literally in your hands? Command attention and stop letting them talk over you just because they have a mouth. Say something if you dont agree. Otherwise, you might as well hand the work over to the assistant and stare out a window
