So the duke met up w the family to warn them not to give up pereshati to the princess to lift the curse or he will retaliate. Very scary and its prob why he tortured the princess openly and killed the guards. To show what he’s willing to do.
The king agreed to cover it up bc its not worth dragging everything out in public. More ppl will get involved/know that royals are sacrificing ppl and lying about the rebels. Will threaten their power basically. He also knows hes quickly losing control of the duke and wants to keep him calm
@Starburst, Honestly… I understand the conversation between King and Duke better than all of those family conversations. For awhile I haven’t understand 2/3 of the family problems and conversations and what is going on there… I just understand the blood curse part at this point.
.
King and Duke thing still made sense.
One sentence version: The princess is more trouble than worth to the King.
.
And not like that princess is his only child, so he doesn’t even need to care about her being only heir. That wasn’t in the conversation, but we readers already know that King have many chilsren.

@Bocchi I think its because the Princess touched the ring that’s why he threw it

@Bocchi probably think that Princess Delulu already dirtied/tainted the engagement ring and doesn’t want it to be touched by Pereshati.

Why did he throw away the ring

Man, I wish they translated it better. It’s confusing the convo of the duke and the king. I don’t get how the duck got the king to agree still.
