The way a simple “my (snake) sis wants to see you before her last moments since she really admires you, could you come with me” would’ve sufficed but no he had to pull all that drama about “COME WITH MEEEEE JUST COME WITH MEEE” under totally suspicious circumstances befuddling an already dangerous environment surrounded by assassins, kidnapping her during the mayhem of it all causing her guard to break the gem to get to her in time causing said guard to lose a large part of his sanity, then shooting her (which is indirectly his fault because he caused it to happen). He had the gall acting like a poor martyr going on about “It’s ok if I die I just wanted to fulfill her wish” like wooow wish you were THAT talkative when explaining why you wanted to take her away “just because!” and endangering the lives of the people on that field because not only did they have assassins to deal with, they got a princess kidnapper on the loose too at the same time
