Oh so the bits that she’s seeing as the environment setting the mood is actually the environment literally changing in real time. I wonder if it’s because she’s viewing things through that rofan filter and if said filter is removed, what the actual environment would look like

Guyz is it just me or you all noticed the shadow of hanging legs from tree too? Is Evengeline’s shadow still in that tree or it’s just a reference??

@KTheySay It’s not just you. We see it too.
My interpretation is “illusion”. I don’t think the real Evangeline is still hanging from the tree, but more like… “he saw the past in the present” or something like that and now he is trying to rationalize it by saying “it might have been the petals”.
To be honest… if I would stand somewhere in the open and a shadow would be cast over me, while I can still see the sun/clear sky above… not gonna lie, I would probably freak out, instead of rationalizing.

While I also enjoy the two-way perspective of how she sees the world and how others see her, I find parts with her silliness a bit too silly tbh, all that jumping to conclusions who is the male lead or female lead etc. Her main thing at the beginning was lack of information and that she couldn’t read, the cat gave her this ability, but she basically did not fill that gap as I see it. She still continues her tune of – this looks like setting in the novel, or he or she look like leads of the story, but you don’t see her spending at least a minute to explore the world while she previously wanted to find out more info.

I love the contrast between her just thinking that everything is a normal regression story, but everyone that is around her sees her as an entity it is not to be messed with
