   But the MC is too nice to the point that if feels too much for what is going on and the antagonists are too antagonistic for no real reason given their own statuses in the novel. No build up to the point of aggressiveness they have. They are just raw though the background characters also notice this. Most of the story is good. I can see why it has such a good rating. The positives distract from the negatives but it’s something to read when there are plenty of chapters, leave and come back to over and over. 7/10

   Mixed feelings: it has great elements from other reads but the similarities are background rather than the main story. The pacing is good that it makes you almost forget that from the first chapter till the seventies, the MC is dealing with the same villains over and over and over. The MC’s personality. The author does a great job of giving reason to the MC’s actions (except his stubbornness) unlike most authors who write contradictory characters.

   Synopsis:
   In a world where necromancers rule half the continent, the young nobleman learns from his father what it means to be a baron. At least until Neftis appears, the famous Necromancr who enables the Necromancers to rule. Neftis, who is friends with Simon’s parents, personally invites him to the Academy.

   Once there, Simon learns not only that he didn’t have to take the entrance exam, but also that he is number one in his class.

   Now it’s up to Simon to fulfill the expectations placed on him.
