welll i get why ppl wouldnt want nasar as an ml (i also have mixed feelings) since in the prophecy book he went for the other girl instead and before philomel changed he was passive (?) but i honestly cant blame him for it too. imagine being told the moment you were born that you exist for the sake of someone else. you wouldn’t feel like your own person. also, its not that he hated philomel, in fact, in chap 2? he was kinda worried abt her so yes he cares for her but the fact that he’s basically being forced (hes a child!) to exist for her would suffocate him.
think of this as izekiel and jennette from wmmap. he was also told throughout that he had to protect her. that kind of responsibility is tough for a kid.
