My theory, a clichè one, is he left for Suae to not get involved in his family’s problem. To let the scandal die down by not attending his classes and graduation day – removing his presence for everyone at school to forget about it. As he do so, he improved himself, created an alias, and became a renowned musical director.
I think he knew how Suae would react – he expected it that’s why he appeared unconcerned, BUT he’s determined to get her back. And he will, as any ML should.
