how can she know anything if you never explain anything to her? the duke was expecting her to be mindful of company but she’s literally grieving, she felt so alone and isolated, with no one who supported her. It’s a nice recipe of self destruction 🙄🙄
He hasn’t realized yet that true power means such little things like the servants gossiping a bit or asking for a reschedule during trying times can’t affect it. He’s extremely weak if he thinks everyone’s opinion of him can drastically alter his position, person, and abilities.
She at least has figured out not caring, though she now needs the next step of taking independent action.
