She doesn’t know what he’s doing and why he’s doing it.
You, as a reader know more because you follow everyone.
She doesn’t.
And tbh, with her experience, being neglected the whole time they were together, she has no reason to believe, that he’s going to somehow be of any help. His top priority was for her to stay put and silent.
Although I understand how she feels. Wouldn’t it have been better to accept his deal then work out a contract to later divorce. He’s fixing her debt problems. So if she said she’d work at the business to repay the debt and then learn how to manage the business so she would have stability after divorce. I feel like this would have been better then her just refusing and running away.
