Interesting. He is acting with some honor, since he’s actually divorcing instead of moving the other woman in as defacto wife while neglecting his legal wife in order to continue to exploit his noble bride’s connections. Plus he’s offering very generous compensation and setting her loose after a year, rather than keeping her trapped her entire life or until she has zero hope of attracting another or ever having children. I doubt he will get much business benefit at all in a single year. It would take longer to establish a new market, his business relationships will take a hit if he divorces her, plus he is giving her a massive payout. He didn’t want to marry her and was as coerced into it as she was.
If he actually was a villain, he’d be sexually exploiting her so he could use their children to steal her father’s title, all while dabbling with his psuedo-wife mistress.
So, I can’t really see him as a bad guy or villain. Despite the social hit she’ll suffer, he is trying to make up for it and it would be far better for both of them to part ways than stay together and suffer when neither wants to be in the union.

Perfect. . . I just love it. . . I hope it’s going to be a neglected FL and regretful ML trope story. . . 😌🤞🏻
