I would like it too if grandpa would give Marianne a bit more time to be alone and adjust to her work. Not just basically one day. ML should have been looking for longer. Now I suspect that he just comes to drag Marianne back when she is getting somewhere with her own talents.
I appreciate the grandfather. He helped Marianne and then went to check the situation, deciding if his grandson was still working, he’d not interfere. He’s giving gentle pushes and support. He’s biased towards his grandson, but still helps Marieanne knowing his grandson is wrong.
