   So after reading to chapter 5 apparently the husband didn’t do anything wrong, he’s actually the only reason the family didn’t become bankrupt. And the fl says she’s upset because she was forced into marriage, well so was he, that’s what arranged marriages are (which is common in that time). The fl was spoiled by her mother and given everything she wanted, and she wanted Serenity, but because she was too young to even know anything about the business when her mother died she wasn’t able to inherit it, which was why she was forced to marry the husband because he’s good at business. But instead of trying to talk with her husband like a civil person about the affairs of the business she gets upset and becomes extremely rude. She even starts cheating on him with the lover but she’s even a bitch to him too. I don’t think she sees her lover as a person, she’s just clinging to him because she wants to be in control of something (since she wasn’t able to control Serenity). So overall the fl is a spoilt cheater. Nothing will justify that.
