   Some spoilers below.

   For the long review below, I can agree about the husband and cheating friend and illegitimate daughter to a degree, but the assessment of FL seems biased. The whole thing seems biased a bit. All the characters have their motivations for why they acted a certain way, but the FL didn’t handle herself poorly as a lady at all. She did all of that well then went blind for “her” child and couldn’t do as much, on top of that she was neglected as a person who needed to be cared for. The husband literally chose her for her father’s money, nothing more or less. He pretend to love her to the point where it sickened him. How can FL be blamed for “not knowing” a person that was fake from day one? Not getting to know him? How do you know that? It clearly showed them spending time together. If he got with her solely to use her for money, why would he ever share something deeper with her. That was his choice out of her control. When it is the man’s job in this society to handle money and whatnot, when did she throw her father’s money at him? As a matter of fact the first time we see her mention the state of their money to her husband he asks why she asking about it. It’s her fault for being sheltered and having money? Plus she spent tons of time doing charity work to help the less fortunate. The husband was still a noble. A poor noble and a poor commoner are still different levels of poor.
   Why is FL petty and stupid for trusting a lifelong friend and the man she thought loved her? Why is it bad that she’s angry for being betrayed and killed by the two she trust more than anyone? Why is FL the bad person for helping the cheating friend because she loved and cared for her? How is it FLs fault that she had wealth and the friend didn’t? Why is the friend’s inferiority complex FLs fault or problem? The friend didn’t have to kiss her friend’s ass at all. She chose to. The friend chose to see FL as a bank rather than a person or a friend instead of seeking other avenues to achieve what she wanted.. She chose to project her insecurities. Sure her situation was unfortunate but how is that any of FLs responsibility or fault when the friend apparently felt this way even before she met FL? The friend made her choices just like the husband did. They both chose to be leeches and destroy a person who was everything they weren’t. I don’t see how FL is at fault for any of this. Plus, her real daughter was stolen from her. While I appreciate both the backstories and how it plays into their reasoning and characters, I don’t think it excuses what they did or put FL at fault for their actions.
   As far as the illegitimate daughter, yes she’s spoiled but that can hardly only be attributed to FL. Her real mother also spoiled her and probably did even more once the truth was out. If anything, It looked like the real mom and dad made her behavior worse to cover themselves and prep for the future. That girl felt no attachment to FL despite having thought of her as a mother for 10 years. I understand she’s young, impressionable, and has been convinced that FL would no longer love her if she found out the truth, but FLs mind changed about her when the girl literally tripped her up on the stairs where she could’ve been seriously injured just for funsies and with no remorse for the person who *still* showed her love and was literally handicapped. And her want to marry is bc she is infatuated with the boy, not bc she’s desperate to escape. It never shows her seeking approval except for one instance with her father bc she was quite pleased with her life. All she wants is to marry the boy she likes and will use anyone necessary. That seems to align more with bio parents demeanor rather than FL. I won’t say I don’t feel bad for her at times because I do but plenty of her decisions and behaviors are her own too. She’s literally 15.
   As far as the real daughter, I think there’s some exaggeration here. Revenge does change people, true and she has every right to be angry and want revenge, but her decisions are also her own. She was going to try and get revenge and save FL before learning FL knew the truth. If anything her kindness seemed to change as a result of dying in her first life, not as a result of seeking revenge. Is she cruel to illegitimate daughter? Yes, but it’s not as if illegitimate daughter did nothing to deserve the retaliation. Self-righteous? I’m not fully sure on that but if you’re seeking revenge, I feel like that and manipulation comes with the territory. Yeah, she’s definitely not giving mad at the world either.
   All that said, I would recommend. Are all FLs decisions great? No, but I can attribute that to the writing rather than the characters. Plot has gotta plot, after all. Is FL’s decisions blinded by revenge and thus aren’t morally white as her character originally was because of that naivety and innocence, yes. But it’s revenge, so I expect off kilter morals. Am I excusing it? No. Her choices are also her choices and are made with reasons and due to experiences just like everyone else’s here.

   This one stands out because they have very complex characters. Each, good or bad, has sides you’ll like, hate, understand, and disagree with.

   For the ‘bad’ people, you have the the husband, who experienced crushing amounts of pressure to restore his family as a child and a lifetime of being humiliated and deprived by poverty. He can’t connect with or respect his extremely naive and sheltered wife, the FL, who never experienced hardship and doesn’t help with his running of the household except by obliviously flinging her daddy’s money at things when it occurs to her. He and his long standing affair partner actually fell in love at first sight and understand each other intrinsically from similar childhood tails of hardship, but they can’t be together both because of her status and because he has to restore his family which requires him to marry for money. But, even with his wife’s funds, his estate is on the poor side with a very strict budget that causes him stress. All this stress leads him to taking the easy way out with people when he can.

   Our evil stepmom has grown twisted because she has always longed to be recognized, secure, and important for herself, but her continued wellbeing required her to kiss her best friend’s ass so she could have things like school and food once her parents died, and she must make way for her friend to marry the love of her life. Her personal self worth cannot handle this reality, and she has to look down on the FL as an idiot who deserves to be fleeced to preserve her self worth. She has difficulty connecting with people, so as much as she wants to bond with her daughter, she doesn’t know how, and the girl constantly compares her with the FL and finds her wanting. To get her daughter’s approval, she is overly permissive, and enables bad behaviors she should stop. She has grown tired and twisted from not being able to live under the sun with her love and her child as her self, and that makes her do terrible things.

   The evil stepchild is, well, a literal child. She has been living in an extremely stressful and precarious state since she learned of her father’s affair and her true identity as an illegitimate bastard at the age of 10. Her dad isn’t all that interested in her, her bio mom is shameful to her, but her powerless and disregarded step mom will likely reject her if it’s revealed she is a fake daughter. She is desperate for the stability and approval a parent should provide, and tries to fit the expectations of whatever adult seems the most secure. As such, she escalates into truly terrible behaviors because she has few other means of expressing her maelstrom of emotions over this adult SNAFU she is trapped in and because she thinks it’s what the adults in her life want and expect from her. Her most fervent and desperate desire is to marry as soon as possible, despite being only 15, so she can escape her toxic household, and like her mother, she has fallen in love at first sight.

   Our “good” FL character is petty and stupid. She doesn’t handle her role as lady, instead faffing about. She assumes everything will be wonderful and all people will love her as a matter of course, just by virtue of her existing, and as such, she made zero effort to get to know her arranged husband or share is burdens. She is extremely quick to emotionally abandon her adoptive daughter rather than attempt to parent her. Even in her first life, she was a pretty crappy mom. While it seemed like she was great and good, she never stepped in to actually parent. She never noticed her daughter’s extreme emotional upheaval, let alone taught her how to address and control it. As a result, her step daughter became spoiled, volatile, and did not see her as reliable or safe at all. In her second life, instead of going after her husband, whose fault this all is, she targets her 15 year old stepdaughter as the easier victim, and emotionally and physically torments the girl by telling her she will never measure up, her fiance and his family won’t like her, and forces her to read for hours upon hours, even after she says it hurts and would like to stop. Her pettiness in trying to poke her step daughter into realizing she prefers bio daughter and thinks step daughter will never measure up leads to the literal child into *selling her soul to the devil* to meet her expectations, and she just…. doesn’t do anything about it.

   The most innocent party is the bio daughter, and while she does deserve her revenge, you can see it cutting huge swathes through her personality and soul to get it. She is no angel. We watch her warp from a good and kind girl, into a cruel, self righteous, and manipulative one who has a chip on her shoulder the size of the grand canyon, hates the entire world, and lies constantly.

   The idea of them delaying the revenge so it hurts more, backfires as usual as the fake daughter learns black magic and will 100% cause them a lot of harm and probably put them on the edge, also dead when happy ending suddenly comes.

   Sorry, but I had hopes, and ended up disappointed.
