I’m sure he was talking about her when he confessed that he loved someone. I have a gut feeling that she is his first love that he gave up on when he realised she would never love him back.
That is true. Although, he doesn’t have to hate her just because he loves someone else. And I really don’t believe he would have spent the night together with her, when he hates her. That seems not logical to me.
I think readers are missing a vital point here , she clearly mentioned that Duke Catan had confessed to her that he loves someone else. Then why is it wrong on FL’s part to think that her husband loves someone else?

She’s those typical FL who think their husband don’t like, or worse hate them because they’re men of few words and lack knowledge of romance

How did she reach the conclusion that he hate her when he didn’t show any signs of hating her? Or did she just roughly guess?
