id expect the reason is something like upon clearing the 50th floor all tower residents will be teleported away so he refused cuz he didn’t want her to truly fall in love and be happy only for everything to be taken away
but instead it’s an idiotic inferiority complex…
sure it isn’t really that outrageous, many pple think extremely high of the person they like and will think they deserve better
but considering what the mc knows, its kinda… disappointing

MC is overcomplicating things. He should just accept her feelings. She doesn’t need him to be perfect, also there is no perfect if You will wait for it You will die before You reach it. He just hurt her unnecessary.
