HaeSoo has been extremely depressed for a very long time, and unable to express emotions or desires. Mincheol is aware of this and his role in causing her to be that way….but never knew how to fix it and was hurting himself. He needed to leave to realize he wanted to stay, and he needed HaeSoo to finally snap out of things and start showing how she feels and that she loves/wants/needs him. Which is why he is so relieved and happy when she started doing things like buying herself a flower and acting jealous. But he panicked when she never tried to get him back, which is why he went home for a bit. She showed more emotion when she saw him, so he is now going to try and press his luck by leaving again, likely in the hopes that when she does finally chase after him, she’ll be out of the depressive funk that has haunted their relationship for a very long time.
