While I agree the duke should have visited her after the slap, I have a feeling it was more like he couldn’t. The butler mentioned that the imperial family has several things to keep him behaved and they mentioned that the duke has been hiding Grace from the eyes of the imperial family. I’m thinking 1) he cannot be seen actively supporting her and showing he cares in front of the princess because Grace will be a known weakness and 2) he cannot risk being caught going to her so he refrianed. That is my guess anyway.
