Pierto thinks that Illiana, who was able to enter his dream and is therefore from the “dark night” (later known as a dark ans mysterious place) believes that she manipulated the emperor into making her the empress. He thinks her activity from being a socialite who always attended parties transitioning into a priest student who lives quietly is very strange. Basically from what i understand he visited the “dark night” and seems to not want someone from there sitting on such a position, and since he’s not under the emperor’s jurisdiction, he wants to murder Illiana.
