Honestly, he needs a grief consoler. He’s not bad man per say, but he’s so wrapped up in his own grief, he’s failing to understand why his actions are devastating and in the end toxic to other people. He cannot move on, buried in the past, becoming emotionally abusive to his wife. HE’s not trying to manipulate her, he thinks he’s offering a fair deal without realizing that what he’s asking is emotionally damaging. Unfortunately, he’ll never get that grief consoling to move past this, and she’ll want the divorce in the end, and he’ll realize what he lost.
