I wish they would give her some good and much desperately needed education. She lacks knowledge and doesn’t even know to seek it. I feel no resentment from her at all in fact only full of feebleness and naivety. It’s not even a maturity of it all 🤦🏻♀️. I’m literally skipping every 5 chaps in hope of her improving despite what the comments had said but yeah I should’ve probably listened to them

I know this man is evil bust somhow I trust him more than the 2 elder brothers the youngest on is a kid and he treats her as a kid not like saint so that’s why I’m okay with the youngstb

People who say she’s dumb for easily getting manipulated by the duke and the priest don’t fully understand her character. She was brought up in an environment where her value was determined by her work ethic and appeasement to the ‘Grandmother’. She’s never been outside and actually socialised with others. In a way she’s sort of sheltered from beyond the world she lived in. OBVIOUSLY she wouldn’t know the difference between good people and bad people since she’s never really had enough experiences to chalk it up. All she knew was the ladies from the brothel and the violence she witnessed. Obviously traumatised. Mind you, she’s not even 10 yet. Her entire life, she’s been mistreated, and she watches her ‘older sisters’ die in front of her for no absolute reason and suddenly she’s whisked away to the palace because she’s ‘holy’. Being suddenly thrust into an environment where you have no one to rely on and anyone on your side any sort of kindness and warmth obviously would seem better than staying with people who seem cold to you. While we may not see other character’s attitudes as ‘cold’ the MC does because they don’t express their love towards her.
The Duke knows this and he utilises her inexperience and her insecuirties of being a commner (which is totally valid btw, since the entire society is very classist and hireachial), to seem like a gentle nuturing figure.

girl is easily so trusting of strangers and suspicious looking individuals who happens to be attractive… sighs. can’t be mad at her considering her age and past but still. 😒
