Carcel in these last few chapters seemed so selfish to me- why is he making up plans for Ines life without considering her wishes/opinions. He is assuming that if Ines leaves him and marries another everything will be fine- but why does he still underestimate Oscar? As if the Crown Prince/ next Emperor is not powerful enough ot publicly take a lower noble’s wifer as his mistress. The only reason he can’t do it in this life is BECAUSE INES MARRIED YOU CARCEL! YOU’RE A DUKE AND HIS FIRST COUSIN! IT’S A SOCIAL SUICIDE TO MAKE ATTEMPTS ON YOUR WIFE AND HE STILL TRIES WHILE YOU’RE OUT ON THE BATTLEFIELD! lowkey i’m kinda proud of Emiliano for standing up against Carcel- he’s already told you that he knows Ines didn’t fully love him in his past life but rather her relief from being able to escape her doom was mistaken as love. And love how he lays down to Carcel that Ines has no future with himself but with Carcel and to treat her right and protect her,.

To the commenter below- did you not read the chapter?? The brother didn’t kill the child, Ines did. The brother chased after Emiliano, and truthfully it’s understandable since this commoner painter took away his noble sister and ruined the reputation of the house. But Luciano also chose that decision as a final mercy to his sister- better to be killed by him than be found by the Crown Prince’s forces. I’d like to believe that to a certain extent Luciano understood that Ines did what she did to escape Oscar. But from his pov- his sister who wanted nothing more than to be empress one day runs away with a commoner wtf? Also Ines actions of killing her child was also an act of mercy to him, her entire second life’s motto is that she’d rather be dead than in Oscar’s clutches. Also we can see that Carcel actually caught up to Emiliano and the child and still let them go.

She named the child after her brother. The same brother that later killed that child.
No wonder Ines did what she did.

Such an emotion, mature and intense moment for these two!
