For what I think is happening is that they’re having a flashback into the past not just when they are young but also their past lives (like the person they used to be before). I predict that the black haired dude (I think his name is iris) reincarnated as John since we see John dreaming of him and loving giovetta the same way. And the past giovetta with the golden eyes is reincarnated as the blue eyed giovetta. The past giovetta loved the past “John” the dead twin corpse you see her kissing. So I think Iris probably made a deal with the devil or whoever to become John in his next life possibly. Since Giovetta didnt really love him like the past John. The John we know now, the little dude is probably getting many nightmares of his past life and/or turning into a devil that hurts giovetta.
That’s what I think/predicted happen but the story is still kinda hard to understand
