Dude has a bit of common sense. He wasn’t necessarily talking about her status, but how she will not only be a maid. Since he’s noticed how big of an influence she’s become to the duke, he’s concerned if she were to leave. The butler just realized how dangerous it can become.

I’m sorry, If the master you love so much is unable to be with any other woman without being affected by him, he’s finally happy, eating, and caring about his appearance, and his reputation is already kind of garbage due to his unfortunate ability, I wouldn’t care she’s a maid. Him being with her may lower his influence and power temporarily but at least he’d have an heir with a woman who isn’t obsessed with him to the point of killing herself.
