@alchemist, I agree that probably his backstory but it still doesn’t excuse all the things he did as a grown man with his own thoughts. Fell bad for the child but never for the adult
I feel like this Yuri fellow is under the thumb of his mom and never actually wanted to be emperor thinking his brother would handle it, but the dowager got ambitious and shoved the responsibility to him. Not that that makes him any better, he’s still dumb trash
