At least she’s going a little Italian renaissance mid-1400s. If I had to make a dress that fast, that’s what I’d do in this situation. I once made four of them in a week by myself. I think it’s helpful to look at it as a concept. Not every costume designer or scenic designer is going to go for straight realism. A lot of the time we try to say something with the choices being made, even if to say, “This is a blend of times and ideas rather that a specific time and place. It’s a fantasy convergence.” While I really didn’t care for the costumes in the show, The Wheel of Time books are a pretty good example of this idea done well as it’s taking place in a future time with a blend of cultures and ideas expressed in a different way than our direct past.
Outside of that rant, it’s cute. I enjoy it. Sure, some of those stitches should be different and I could probably go into a long discussion of how patterns were made historically, like many of these sorts of stories, it’s giving a lot of short hand that is representing what a person would actually do. I’m way less bothered by this one than I am some of the coffee, tea, and cooking stories. It’s not so nonsense that it’s impacting my suspension of disbelief.

I hate it when when it’s middle age, but we always see fucking XVth to XVIIIth century architecture and don’t forget the fucking Rapiers from the XVth century.
Man, European fantasy from Asia is just a pain in the ass.
