Two theories. Either the “world” itself is forcing people from this world to follow the predetermined path of fate (aka, the storyline of the novel), and our fl is free from this due to her soul being from another world, or there is someone actively brainwashing people (no idea who this could be, but the Imperials would be a decent candidate, seeing as they haven’t really been introduced nearly 50 chapters in, besides the Crown Prince.
As for why, I don’t know. If it’s the former, I’m not sure how the fl will overcome something so intangible as the will of the world, so a part of me hopes its some tangible force that’s bewitching people, cause otherwise, there isn’t really much clue as to why people are seemingly being brainwashed to carry out the plot of the novel.
