@AddictedToManga it wasn’t a contract out of love, the women was already selfish af, she just got faced with her own delusions and had to face reality, y’all seriously embarrassingly stupid, she literally did this to herself, tho emperor did went to her to get her attention, but she was the one to propose that stupid contract, which what mc mom said was not love, so it’s mainly her own fault for being greedy and jealous. After all, as she(mc mom) mentioned making contact that put persons life on the line it’s not love. Emperor planned to use her, but he probably might had like her… but thinking more about this I doubt it, he knew she was smart and greedy women, as well as her family probably had quite the influence and power to why he choose her too. As a person who supposedly should be rational, she just became very emotional, when she herself knows that her marriage was due to love. As I said multiple time, what led her to her wickedness is herself no one else.

The empress may have turned evil but the emperor is just as much at fault if not more as his actions are what turned her into a villainess and he specifically played the rules and gained her support for his own selfishness.
See? The Emperor’s fault. If he couldn’t make a genuine attempt to love her, he should not have accepted that contract, he should not have accepted her help, and he should not have accepted her affections. She became the twisted person he made her into, so he is just as at fault.
I know the Empress is one kind of evil but the start of her story proves that villains are made, not born. No wife would ever sit idly by while watching her husband cheat on her repetitively.
