I never expected him to actually kill them all. I thought he still needed them and was doing this all as a way to secure their loyalty and dear. If I were in their place, I’d have complete loyalty to him once I discovered he wasn’t incompetent but rather the one to bring Necromacy back to House Marbas. He’s way more ruthless than I thought.
