After accidentally making his wife die in the first timeline he was heartbroken to the point he casted revival magic on her and kept regaining his memories in all the revival timelines to the point I think it made his mental stability plummet which in turn made him crazy and hate Ophelia’s brother to be honest I both don’t like him but not to the point of hate and I pity him cause he made a mistake and that in turn brought him anguish to the point where he went total psycho aka crazy in the head.
