It is so frustrating! Then again considering this is historical korean setting,, the king actually thinks in a favourable way regarding his wife. Normally no man there (and then) would consider for almost any woman, least of all his wife (unless the marriage was purely out od love). This thought of his, that he wants a son with his wife (the perfect heir) and daughter from his lover (the one to spoil and cuddle) is as decent as men there could be. I’ve heard that even now (and even women ) still highly prefer sons/grandsons to girls-hence here grandmother in law praisng the queen is so refreshingly fair. As for the queen’s perception of her selfworth and behaviour – think back of the few flashbacks on her childhood. Even that little would be so traumatizing for any child- let alone lonely, perceptive and defenless girl. It seems like everyone expects her to turn full emancipated man-punisher, when there is not one clue about her having any modern way of thinking. She is brainwashed by society and her own family into a docile puppet and oppressed from every side. Anyway I do hope that she either loses all faith in her husband or reaches some kind of elightenment from her teacher’s side soon, because this is so damn frustrating! Had this been completed work I would flash through this period, but getting this one chapter a week leaves one no choice, but to read every POS part and imagine the King’s stupid face when the S* finally hits the fan.
I can tell you one thing; when the King finally lose his throne to his ?brother? grandma isnt going to be a problem. She’s itching to tell that boy hes a worthless PoS.
