Jeez these comments… She’s not naive. She’s ignorant on medicine, just like pretty much everyone was 100 years ago. This was all experimental. This doctor was clearly a sadist though as a lot of phycs were back then. This man has been traumatized by war and then fried mentally by the treatments. His wife just wanted to help and decided to trust the doctor. I don’t think either one of the main characters are bad people (as of yet in the story). She was stuck in a situation she couldn’t change as a women in that time. He had PTSD and not much was known about it then. Then they both got screwed over by a sadistic and selfish doctor and gossiping staff members. People used to think smearing human crap on wounds and sleeping under a full moon on the 6th of January would cure illnesses. She’s ignorant and that’s not the same as stupid or naive. It’s a different thing entirely. Unbeknownst due to the lack of information. And the information is entirely unbeknownst at the time.
no i am not blaming the ml. def not. not hating the fl but like- i feel like she is more than naive. see i am not telling she should stop the war and with the “power of love” heal the ml in a second. the ml did try to do many things for her even when he went through hell azz trauma. with all the war trauma and everything its not possible for him to heal in a second. moreover she is not realising it but i feel like she is more you know- wants the ml to become normal by force quickly. in the end i cant blame either of them. maybe i will blame the fl but never the ml. war trauma is hell lot to take in
People the timeline is during world war 1 and 2. And PTSD was noticed during and after the wars in soldiers. No one ever knew about this before during that time so it was something new for doctors to experimented that time. And whenever some illness began, the treatments were always evil type which are forbidden now in present. So if PTSD was new to doctors of that then it was also new for people too.
@theqom I mean, i feel like we shouldn’t be so harsh on her. during this time it was the newest medicine. She truly thought it was for the best. and in her first life she was raised to never doubt the men above her. That’s why this second time around she’s doing the work to rely on herself more.
