I like how everyone agrees the high priest is the most sus 😂

The premise doesn’t make a whole lot of sense outside of drama logic.
Our FL was a poor orphan who made it to the Saintess position normally reserved for nobility due to her astonishing levels of spiritual power. This does not go over well with the nobility, who took every chance to malign her and her legitimacy.
Saintesses are assigned four Holy Knights to guard her, who are all from high noble houses. These knights were negligent jerks and treated her like crap, blowing off their protection duties, refusing to take her places, and just being generally unpleasant.
One day, the FL is stabbed through the back and murdered while at prayer. It’s only through the high priest that she miraculously survived.
Rather than calling for a criminal investigation….he decided to cover up the crime and tell the world she died from a sickness. He and the FL believe one of the four knights is the murderer. So again, instead of calling her as a witness and letting the professionals handle it, which would enable her to carry out her saintess duties in the meanwhile and ensure they don’t look for a new saintess, they decide she has to change her appearance and play at being the knights’ maid to “investigate”.
Of course, now that she’s showing her “real” self (and is now in a servile position suiting her upbringing, gender, and class, rather than their boss– ick) all of the knights think she is oh-so-attractive and likable, so she has difficulty viewing any of them as her murderer.
I’m sure we’ll all learn it was just a misunderstanding (which also makes no sense: even if they didn’t kill her, their literal job is to guard her and she got murdered on their watch) The high priest also seems super suspicious, but his logic also makes zero sense (if he was obsessed with her, why send her to live with four men? If he wanted to replace her, why not just kill her?)
If you’re fine with being hand-wavy about the logic in exchange for the drama of the established setup, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. Readers have been asked to believe setups far more ridiculous on even shakier logic. The art is pretty, it’s reverse harem-ish, and it’s a familiar ride.

So basically normal Japanese shoujo manga meant for early teens? At least that was often the shoujo’s level before, clearly aimed just certain young audience.

Well… how should I say this. It’s generic with a twist. Saintess dies by someones sword, doesn’t see who, but he (?) takes keepsake of her mother, then gets resurrected by the suspicious high priest who sends her off to search for her killer (now you get, why he’s sus)… that’s all the story. It’s not bad, but don’t expect something original, which you’ve never seen before.
