There is a common problem with Chinese stories with the pacing. Most the time its them making a manhua out of a web series and all the extra details are in the webseries and usually missing context between chapters. I don’t know why its so hard for the chinese stories to make it continuous. I will say the translation has been one of the better ones. It isn’t so jarring for English readers like I normally find them. The ML is adorable, the FL is capable, and the ex fiancé isn’t a piece of trash surprisingly (just stupidity and sense of responsibility don’t mix) but I do have problems with the other characters and the habit of the FL being smart except when not convenient for the plot. The ML is also the type to do everything in silence so all the stuff he does is either mistaken or contributed to someone else, leading to misunderstanding. People like him exist, but it can be irritating for people.
