This is kinda like one of those tourist just standing still or walking at the beach when tsunami is coming. The mentality, “It would never happen to me. Never happen to here.” is quite common, usually more common in men, but still… Especially when it’s a familiar place, we all have a tendency to fall for it.
Home is supposed to be safe, right? (And now I might have made someone doubt it that there might be a stranger in their home.)
