He’s neither that though. As much as he should change to become a leader of respect he’s doing it gradually. There are different types of people who has followers. He’s is based on gratitude and necessity. And reason why girl is asking him is cause he’s practically is the leader of the place tho manager or landlord seems more fitting. He could literally kick her out if he so wishes it and her being honest about it is a good thing, not everyone is a genius at mastering their skills and nor are they capable of adapting so quickly. Her ‘ weakness’ is a natural thing. Cause imagine her being a more dead weight, that could endanger the team. But I get it, he doesn’t need to bow to her so it may be excessive honestly. Hoping to see his continued growth in the future though

He gave them shelter in an apocalyptic hellscape, handed out resources and powers like charity, and still they expect him to play therapist for their emotional baggage? At some point, the MC needs to realise that bending over backwards to coddle every lost soul that shows up isn’t compassion, it’s weakness. You don’t build a stronghold on sympathy alone. People don’t need a friend, they need a leader. Someone who commands respect, not begs and bows down for approval.
