TheReader. 25 But he did help her though? With the fireworks and inviting her to a very secret and respectable meeting that women usually don’t go to? I get that there were a lot of coincidences but put yourself in their shoes :
1) Asher got interested in her bc of her remark on the casino and then when her guard went to get more infos, so its’ very likely that he had informants telling him about her whereabouts and making him able to go meet her whenever she was out from that point onwards which is why they always ran into each other
2) About Aria not figuring it out, it’s annoying for us but I think it makes a lot of sense. She was raised as a commoner and she is even regarded as being so lower-rank by her step-father to marry the advisor of a foreign noble who he wouldn’t even let Miel marry! Aria has been constantly undermined by her step-family and other nobles so she thinks she’s not that insightful, how could she have the confidence to think the Crown Prince would be more interested in her than in lady Iris? She knows that she is pretty and that she has learned a lot but learning doesn’t mean being smart. She emphasized this when she explained that Miel had just been taught things that she hadn’t when they were young. Overall, I think she’s just more confident in her appearance, social skills and efforts than she is in her intelligence.
Benefactor implies that he helped her but he hadn’t really. And all the gifts though intentionally were meant for her they never really went to her. So she never really got them. Now looking back their love was rather forced in a way. Sure there was a lot of coincidence in meeting and even approaching with intentions, which made it a classic for such stories.
