As much as I agree with your frustration with lack of communication, I doubt it’ll get resolved so quickly. This feels like she will remain in doubt for a long portion of the story. Like they will explain but she will not believe it until the ML comes around and “opens her eyes” and she’ll see that they have been trying. We’ll, at least, that’s the vibe I get from this story.

This is what I mean—talk it out. Tell her the truth so she knows she’s walking through this castle still thinking these people didn’t care about her, when they did. They did more for her than her so-called mother ever could.
Please, communicate. The lack of communication in these stories is pissing me off to the point where I just want to jump in and punch someone or make them stop. Someone needs to sit down and talk everything out—do something, for God’s sake.
I really hope the author lets her family, especially her father, talk everything out with her, because she needs to know the truth.
