I always thought the arrangement the emperor made for the soldiers was a bit odd, so it makes sense there’s an ulterior motive for it. Ceres is likely a half-brother from a mistress (they usually are) that the emperor wants to get rid off so he’s the sole heir.
@Hopez0 Just a theory, I have no idea, but what if Ceres and the emperor are related? What if Ceres had his memories of being a prince removed and sent to war in the hopes war would kill him, and that’s why the assassins keep trying to kill him even now?
did yall not notice the signs of roven being a traitor? one of the major ones to me was that he ALWAYS urged for fl to use the whistle, whenever there was trouble even if it’s small. he did. and he acted unusal around her a few chapters ago.
