Dumbass. Like ofc you you carry spare parts. I haven’t played in forever but if you play a reed instrument you have like 2 extra reeds in your case and some people carry an extra mouth piece. If not like in another bag.
Parts are expensive and take time to replace so you just have MOAR with you.

It’s possible to play on one string but the notes you can play are pretty limited. Each string has a different pitch and you can achieve the same note on a different string by shifting closer to the bridge of the violin, but it’s more difficult and not all notes can be achieved on just one string..
I think you can still play, there’s an african instrument that uses one string to play a song, the notes maybe just sound on the E string… does violins strings be called similarly to guitar?
