I like how we all see how Maxi is getting better as the story goes (idk the novel) but it’s nice to see her not backing down anymore due to her trauma. Agree that Riftan could have phrased it better. While he believes that she should be staying home (in a gilded prison at the moment), he should involve her in the conversation — we get you Riftan but don’t leave Maxi in the dark
@Chelllbell I totally agree with you, it is clear to us as reader that his intentions are full of love towards her, but for someone like maxi who is soo insecure due to her childhood trauma , it is definetely the wrong way to phrase it Riftan
I kind of get what he’s saying but he said it in a very hurtful way he doesn’t want to bring her somewhere where he is unable to protect her because the knights are going to be so busy that if something happens to the Mage and that May be her he might lose it he’s not saying she’s not reliable he’s not saying she’s not strong but the place where they’re going to go is that dangerous if something happens to maxi Riften will lose it
