@chelllbell I understand that she may die and he’s afraid of that. However, the chances of him dying if she/a healing mage doesn’t go is higher. Which is why they have postponed it for so long. Having injured men throughout a long journey everything gets worse, but having a healer there to fix them up immediately so they can keep moving at a regular speed and in their best condition is obviously a completely different journey. She would be sending her husband to a journey by himself where death is more likely than any of the other journeys he has taken. She would rather die alongside her husband than get remarried and sold to some random man or sent back to her abusive family. She is finally in a position of power and control so she would rather put herself in harms way or die than return to the life of “shelter” aka “imprisonment” like the one she was forced into from childhood. At least, that’s the way I see it 🤔 Which he doesn’t understand because she hasn’t told him about herself
I hope this doesn’t become a wedge between them… hopefully, riftan grows in maturity and doesn’t give her the cold shoulder throughout the journey… and maybe she’ll also come to understand just how much riftan cherishes her – more than even the lives of his men, but he just doesn’t know how to verbally express that 😩
I can understand why Riftan is so worried…. Its reasonable… Its just like the protective parents who would not leave their kids… But there’s always a first time… I hope she proves herself… I hope she stays this determined till the end of the journey…. I hope she wins…
@prettybish I don’t think that’s it I simply think that Rift an is considering everything even if she started to learn it is too much to go on such a dangerous expedition if Maxi gets Hurt he Will never let her out again he is too scared to lose her she may be confident but when it comes to life threatening situations she may not be Able to respond quickly.
And if that we’re to happen it is game over.
YESSSS!!!! I know it’ll definitely be difficult and things might go horribly wrong, but at least it’s her choice! Better than hearing the news of your husbands death months later. She finally can take ownership of her life! He doesn’t understand that 🤷♀️
