I’m glad to see there are still people who don’t support this couple. Although both characters had their reasons for behaving that way, it doesn’t justify the fact that this is a toxic and abusive relationship. They both clearly have stuff to work on (the ML’s anger issues, belief in stereotypes and self-centeredness, and the FL’s need for mental stability). We can all also see the unhealthy dynamic of their relationship (how their lack of communication results to both of them unknowingly hurting each other). It was really such a waste to see all this build up, all this tension and drama, to be flushed down the toilet. Instead of giving us the satisfaction of seeing the FL live the honest and humble life she so desperately wanted, we were only given a simple time skip. No display of her relishing in the freedom she fought for. No display of her slowly gaining confidence in her own abilities and no display of her slowly making valuable connections with the people around her. Its just so disappointing how we were only exposed to the abuse and difficulties in her life, and when given the opportunity to see her thrive and grow, we were deprived of it. And now, the readers are subjected to seeing yet another forced relationship with the ML and FL, only this time initiated by the ML. It’s like the author’s only concern is the rebirth of their love story. That may sound relatively appealing, but completely unfair for what she has been through. I don’t think 1 year is enough to remedy a life-time of abuse and exploitation.
PS The fact that the ML isn’t willing to sign the divorce paper despite knowing how miserable he made his wife just goes to show he still has a long way to go before he can be qualified for the FL’s affection. Plus, this new contract also just exhibits yet another toxic trait, manipulation.
To be honest i can’t blame any of them!! She who came from a rich family and him who was poor all his childhood starving and alone. If anything it’s the grownups! Her mother and brother and his two stupid parents! The misunderstanding between them is so understandable they were so unlucky he always thought that she was too much for the not noble him and she always thought he didn’t lover her because her family tricked him. I feel bad for the both of them they both suffered a lot! Wish they can live a happy life soon
It’s would be a perfect time to reunite if this has happened early (like after they first date) but now I thought this is too late to apologize and reconcile, I can’t see the way they would make it through, only awkward and suffer.
