@smilkee It’s because the daughter apparently looks exactly like the deceased mother. He’s latching onto her because he lost his wife. Doesn’t make it right, but he has been the sort of dude to have a whacky moral compass when it comes to family issues.

Was commented in a previous chapter but it really is so funny that the reason the father neglected MC was because she’s not the heir (knew he was neglecting her and was purposely neglecting her coz he couldn’t be bothered) and he “doesn’t have time being a warm family man because I’m busy being the head of the north” but now a mother lookalike daughter appears and now he has all the time in the world to be a chummy dad with all the love and concern and forget all central estate affairs as the head apparently 💀 Emotional incest anyone?
