Some of these commenters in the previous chapters are so silly. You need to know the full story to appreciate the whole. We can’t just ignore parts of the story because we don’t like a character. I’m enjoying the look into Jeanette’s mind and situation because it’s going to come into play for Athy later on – it’s important we understand the stuff going on now because it’ll be important to know the why’s and how’s later on. Be patient and trust in the author to tell us what we need to know to appreciate all of the story and give it the depth it needs to shine.
Besides, I feel bad for Jeanette – her real father using her to get back at his brother while she’s been sold on the dream of a perfect family who will welcome her with open arms once they know who she is. She doesn’t know better because this is what she’s been told since she was young. She’s always felt left out of family and having one of her own is her dream. It won’t turn out like she wants it to, sadly, but hopefully she’ll find something akin to it. I don’t want her to be left broken by the story, she’s just a kid struggling to come to terms with the idea that her dreams may end up having been lies her whole life. That’s horribly sad.

I am still not liking Jennette. I want it to be about Athy, not this beach. I feel sorry but at the same time it is just so annoying because almost everything is now kinda about Jennette. Ugh!
