For Shu, she deserves to be loved after all the things she’ve gone through. And she found the family love she’s craving for fron the Grand Duke.
He’s an emperor yet he lacks proper information and people to rely on.
He don’t even know that the orphanage shushu went to is in terrible condition.
No wonder the empress who isn’t even a royal is over powering him.
Between the two of them, the duke was the father who step up for shushu and that makes a lot for her. The Emperor got his chance on the first timeline but he wasted it all just because of “not having spiritual energy” and didn’t done a thorough investigation during that time.
i already had doubts that maybe he was brainwashed or something, but still, her new daddy found her first and gave her the love that she deserves even tho she’s not his biological child and he can protect her too, the emperor is just too weak.
But like… why tf he can’t put the empress in her place? He lost his wife and child because of her, or is he so damn naive that he can’t see that the red haired empress is the one responsible for all that?
Poor Emperor. It’s clear how much he loves and been longing for his long lost child, but I am doubtful that he can protect her, even if she comes with him. It’s better for her to stay in the Grand Duke’s place and she’s loved there, unconditionally, without constant threats from within the mansion.
I’m loving this story. I hope it really turns out well.
I actually really love this chapter.
So on the point, and the best part is that MC doesn’t look back a second time… Very realistic take, because even if they share the same powers and looks… She doesn’t know him. Majesty is just a stranger to her… Worse, a stranger who abandoned her.
And I wish I would have had dad (or any guardian) like Grand Duke… That is how you should go about it!
Even if he was brainwashed, the fact stands… He couldn’t protect her, not physically, not mentally. And he still probably wouldn’t be able to. Our MC is in a much safer place now.
Maybe they can reconcile when she is an adult and strong enough herself, but now it’s impossible.

Of course someone probably has to teach her how to control her spirit powers, so there need to be some royal involvement, either from bio-dad or bio-brother – but biological blood does not make you real family. Or safe place to be.

Knowing that the villains have charming magic, it’s very clear he must of been brainwashed. Making this rather painful, I pity him a lot I can’t imagine having to just, stand there and watch your beloved long lost daughter be taken away before your eyes
