It’s not clouded judgement it’s common sense. If you can’t even grasp the feelings of the female lead and the tensions inside the story after 49 chapters I fear you need to read this story again….
@Kikaykim by saying that you just showed how incompetent he is even more. Instead of making the palace a safe place for her so that when he declared her princess it would be safe. He recklessly tried to give her a title REGARDLESS of her opinion. If he knew that the empress was behind all of this it would be even worse trying to bring her into the palace without getting rid of the empress knowing full well the empress is trying to kill her. Who brings their kid into a place where there is someone after their life??? She’s better off staying with the grand duke regardless of the situation. Instead of thinking things through rationally he thinks with his emotions instead. Now look where that’s led to. It’s not prejudice, it’s using the knowledge that’s we the readers already know. He can’t just decide when he wants to play father just because he now knows that his child is in fact a girl, not a boy, and that they’re alive. In his past life he didn’t even try to fact-check or look into things deeper behind the empresses back, he just took her word for it without even thinking that she might just harbor any ill will towards his previous empress or the child she gave birth to. And to top all of it off he treated her horribly in her past life. You can’t just expect her or us, the readers, to forgive him so easily after he treated that way and now wants to genuinely be her father, it doesn’t work like that. As I said before, he can’t just decide to march into her life after ignoring and mistreating her horribly in her past life and decide “I wanna be her father!”. It doesn’t matter if he genuinely wants to be her father cause guess what? She GENUINELY also wanted a father but he mistreated her. Shulena or us, the readers, don’t owe him anything, we don’t owe him sympathy, kindness, or understanding cause guess what? He didn’t give ANY of that to her went she went to the palace in her past life. For gods sake she didn’t even life in a MAIDS room. A MAIDS room….she didn’t even live in that. Instead she lived in a cramped, dusty, tiny, shitty attic. And he didn’t to ANYTHING, ANYTHING. He didn’t absolutely NOTHING to stop or interfere with the abuse she was experiencing because what? Because he didn’t care. It’s that simple. And because of that, we don’t care! So what if we’re prejudiced, was he not prejudiced against Shulena too? We don’t owe him anything understanding cause guess what? He didn’t give any understanding to the FL. Everything he’s going through he deserves it all. Stop making excuses for this pathetic excuse of her biological father
