ML is too much of a man with an ego problem. I know both of them misunderstand a lot, but what he does is borderline red flag behaviour. He is socially more learned and adapted than FL, so he SHOULD know better than just always hiding from her, almost doing what you should do, and instantly making shiet up.

If this had been better written, ML would have continued walking there, talking to those two and behave at least some manner. Showing that he is there too, without interrogating anyone.
I had high hopes for this series, but this destroyed ML as a character in an instant.
Yes, he was a bit royally selfish and self-centred character, but this is a level of social stupidity that by this point of his life shouldn’t be happening.

This chapter made me mad because it fell into the typical trap o these stories. Where people will just assume things and take it as 100 percent fact. Oh their friends, but because they hugged when she was upset, they must be lovers in the past instead of, you know, a friend consoling a friend. Oh, he complimented that girl, he must like them. It’s maddening. I hate it. Their lack of communication was tolerable since both have communication and culture clash issues, but this is just a troupe I absolutely hate.
