So she was a web novel author with a one hit wonder, whose story was literally a collection of her own egotistical perception of herself and and her own fantasies, which was successful at first but I suspect after her second work bombed people started looking at her first work more critically, and started calling out her writing mistakes and decisions which they didn’t notice at first due to personal bias towards the original story . This likely did not have a good reaction from the writer, who took criticism to her original work as an attack on her self-image and doubled down on her worst traits.
This is why I am very skeptical towards works written originally as web novels, because the authors themselves don’t really know how to write a story so the text is very incoherent, and certain web novelists are not very open to criticism, seeing it as an attack on their abilities. Now there are series based on web novels that can be done very well and I even enjoy, but many of them are usually very simple and formulaic, one of the major differences distinguishing them from other storys in their genre being what the gimmick of that novels world is.
Erasing the fact that the author is completely selfish, self-absorbed and delusional is… a choice. Like she messed up real people’s lives to promote her work, she didn’t die by accident but killed herself for the sole purpose to get isekaied, and was the one who forced all the Ediths to get isekaied as well (and felt that they should be grateful to live inside her work, she didn’t consider the idea that they were all suffering). Some changes were welcome, but others were not, and that was definitely an aspect of the novel that shouldn’t got changed
They changed it. The author, K, was obsessed with Perfection. Her story was perfect, her characters were perfect. She loved the fame and attention she got from her first story and viewed herself as Perfect. But she could never replicate the success and devolved into a nasty creature who would purposefully ruin other author’s works. When she found herself transmigrated, she LOVED it. She got to live out her perfect world again and again and never had to to get old or deal with anything messy, and got to leave the story at the peak moment of Perfection. She loved that the story reset right at the wedding because it meant she always got to be her most ideal. But, she got bored after a while and wanted new witnesses to her perfection, so she started transmigrating in other people to be new Ediths, which she could then destroy by being perfect (and through her control of the plot) thus alleviating her boredom and proving how superior she and the characters and her story she had made were. Our Edith was the 13th Edith, meaning a dozen women had died due to the author wanting to show off. There was none of this Cliff-secretly-controlled-everything stuff.
This sucks. Manhwa pretty much butchered the most important moment for Edith. Just hurried it along so we get to the reveal of the author or what ever… I recommend people to look for the novel.
So because Edith reincarnation plus privilege as an Author you use her
To add in your story so you can survive and not go back in the beginning
The truth is you’re not in love with both of them them Cliff nor Killeon.
You just care about your self
