The thing i hate about these stories is that the second ml usually is either incredibly sweet (making this a bit of a tragedy for me) or eventually will have to do something out of established character and be evil to justify the fl going with the actual ml (something i hate the most bc why turn them into a villain, let him gracefully exit so i feel nice about one character at the very least)
